Branching Out
Addition: Design and Decorating
When our client first purchased her American Foursquare home in historic Old Louisville, Kentucky, the home’s open primary bedroom and missing dining room suited her kid-free lifestyle. But as her family grew, she turned to Bethany Adams Interiors (BAI) to reimagine the space with a two-story addition that would both enhance livability and honor the home’s historic architecture.
Inspired by traditional sunroom design, the new first-floor dining room addition extends naturally from the existing kitchen, filling the home with light through French doors that open to the backyard. Upstairs, the new primary suite and walk-in closet provide privacy and functionality, allowing the former open bedroom to become a comfortable family room.
The result is a seamlessly integrated home addition that respects the property’s historic Old Louisville character while providing the modern comfort, storage, and family-friendly design today’s homeowners need.
